It's very nice to have a band you can rely upon. Kent's never bad live, and the love affair between the band and the audience in Göteborg seems as solid as ever.

Swedish summer and outdoors is the perfect setting for a Kent concert as long as it doesn't rain. It was a bit cloudy before the gig at Trädgårdsföreningen, Göteborg on July 14:th, but the weather gods decided to be nice and let us enjoy a lovely evening.

The band did as usual and played alot from their latest release and mixed it up with hits and favorites from their now pretty long career. With 10 albums to choose from you will always miss some of your personal favorites, but the band usually make you satisfied in the end. This time was no exception and I was very pleased with my latest Kent experience.

Favorite moments was Petroleum from the latest album and hits like Ingenting, Kärleken väntar and 747. They also played Berg och dalvana, wich I understood was a bit of a rare treat. Only time it seemed a bit out of focus was during Musik non stop when the band did'nt seem to sync 100% with the backtrack.

Not good enough Madonna

The MDNA-tour reached GBG yesterday and I was stoked to finally have the chance to see one of this generations greatest performer on stage.

But I must say I feel a bit betrayed today. Yes it was an amazing show; there were lights, videos, circus acts and more dancers then I could count. There were so much going on on stage at times that it was hard to know where to focus.

But where were the music? The music and songs that made us love her in the first place. Myself and most of the audience came to hear  her classic songs. Sure, throw a bit of new stuff in the mix to make it interesting for yourself, but also make sure you make your audience happy.

But Madonna did it the other way around and threw just a few classics in the mix and based the show on her latest recording. And when the old songs finally came we almost didn't recognize them.

The slashing and mutilation of her old songs were almost more provocative then the blood and gore on the video screens during Revolver and Gang bang. Like a virgin were almost unrecognizable and Papa don't preach was just strange.

The only old songs that came out really good was Vogue and Like a prayer. And it was during those two songs that there was a strong response from the audience.

Unfortunately we did'nt have the privilige to see the queen of pop perform last night, it was just a Mad Donna from America with alot of bright lights, mirrors and smoke.

Can't help my self from doing some self-promotion on the blog. Just received word from our label that the Batch ID album Ni skrämmer inte mig will be released on
Sept. 14:th.

It will be released on the italian label EKP where we are in good company with bands such as Impakt!, T.W.A.T., Gin Devo, Darkmen, Restricted Area and many more.

Take a sneak peak at the album on Soundcloud.
