I hate my work right now, beacause it gonna keep me from seeing Monofånarna perform at SyntHaket on thursday 1/3. Sören Jensen, Magnus Lindström and Karl-Magnus Möller will make lovely music on there analogue machines, and conjure up many lovely squeeks and noises.

Since a few years back february 24:th has been declared the international EBM-day. The obvious reason being the numerical connection to Front 242 (24/2). Just another reason for fans of EBM to gather and listen and party to their favorite music. Since I have to work this evening I'm planning to make a CD-compilation of some of my favorite tracks and force my co-workers to listen to EBM all night long. Happy EBM-Day! Unfourtunatly I gonna have to miss this on friday since I have to work. Chaos All Stars will perform at The Zone in Göteborg 24/2 (On EBM day). The venue takes place at Jazzhuset. Event on Facebook. I last saw Lamb at the Roskilde festival in 1999. Then they knocked me off my feet with their concert and made a killer gig. That show easily qualified them for my top ten list of live performances. So I had high hopes about seeing them again, but at the same time low expectations. It's not many band that continue to deliver at that level after 10 years (including a five year split between 2004 - 2009). After their reunion in 2009 and some gigs at festivals, they recorded new material and released a very good album, 5, in may 2011. But once again this band amazes me. The mix of beautiful, almost ambient sounds, ravaged by noisy sub basses, breaks and drum & bass rythms by Andy Barlow, topped with the magnificent voice of Louise Rhodes is still magic to me. And when you have that level of musicianship combined with a band in good mood and the intimate atmosphere of Debaser in Malmö; then you get something very special. The only downside was that it should have been more people in the audience. It felt like the place was only half filled. Thank you Lamb for bringing your lovely noise to us again. It is finally here, the new album by Swedish EBM-act Spark! Hela din värld is the logic continuation of the previous album Ett lejon i dig. The band continue to combine melodic pop with effective EBM. And I am also the happy recipient of the ltd version with the earlier releases 65 ton stål and Epos EP on a bonus CDr. Extra cool since I miss the Epos EP in my Spark! collection. Beware! If you listen to the track Tankens Mirakel it will get stuck in your head and you will hear the chorus in your brain all day long. |
