This is another cool find through Desire records. Gloom is Crossovers fifth album, but the first on Desire.

The band started in New York back in 2001 when Mark Ingram and Vanessa Tosti met while selling vintage cloting at Smylonylon.

The music of Crossover is dark electro clash with lyrics telling electro folk tales.

The band has collaborated with Timothy Lang-Grannan since the album Space death in 2009. He is responsible for composing all music on the new Gloom album.

I really like the sound and moods of this album. It's a real treat to enter the world of Crossover and experience their mix of tales of witches and vampires in an ultra modern soundscape. Favorite songs are Wraith in the woodz, How covld I, The burning and Don't tvrn yr back on magic. The album does'nt offer much for the dancefloor, but the last track, Fog machine, would work very well for the darker part of the disco. Gloom is a really good album and a perfect soundtrack for a rainy summer day.

The Twins - Face to face
Format: 12"
Style: Synthpop
Label: International Deejay Gigolo Records

A  Face to face (Re-recorded original version)
B  Face to face (Naughty's italo disco mix)

This is The Twins classic song Face to Face from 1982 in a re-recorded version and an updated dance mix. The new recording and mix was done in 2002.

Not much to say about the original song since it is such a classic. It is also one of those rare songs that you never seem to get tired of.

I do enjoy the Naughty's italo disco mix though. The structure of the song is pretty intact and they have just given it a little more oumpf in the drums and given the song a touch of electro clash. I would love to dance to this version.
