Vive la Fête just released their latest album Produit de Belgique. An album written and recorded by the "live band" Vive la Fête, rather then just by Danny Mommens and Els Pynoo.

The album is ok, and an big improvement from the prior album Disque D'or, that was a big disapointment to me. On may 16th the band brought their new music to Göteborg and played at Sticky Fingers.

The live experience of Vive la Fête is always joyful and fun. This show was also good, but at a much smaller scale then the last time I saw them in Göteborg. Smaller venue and a much smaller crowd. Unfourtunatly there was only about  a 100 people at the show, wich was a bit to few to get the party going. The band did their best and was in good spirit, but the response was a bit hesitant and laid back through the whole show.

The set was a mix of crowd favorites and songs from the new album. Some of the new songs grew as live tracks and worked quite well with the older material. But it was the classics like Touche pas, Maquillage and Tokyo that got the best reactions from the crowd.

Really hoping that they will release a kick-ass album next time. Produit Belgique is a step in the right direction, but does'nt make it all the way. The band at it's best is awesome and Els Pynoo is a stage godess in the same lineage as Debbie Harry and Wendy James. I wish that they really bring the party the next time they pass through town.
